The STRATIS team enjoyed this week at NMHC’s OPTECH 2020. The sales team presented the new CommunityConnect offering, and STRATIS CEO Felicite Moorman moderated and spoke on panels. Below are summaries of Felicite’s opening pitch on CommunityConnect Sustain,
Opening Pitch: CommunityConnect Sustain
Felicite and other company leaders gave their pitches on new technology solutions around property management and operations. In only 4 minutes, she introduced RealPage and STRATIS’ CommunityConnect platform, with a focus on the sustainability suite for waste, energy, and water management.
CommunityConnect Sustain connects smart devices like smart sensors, light switches and outlets, smart thermostats, and HVAC equipment, property-wide, as well as smart water meters and heaters, smart load centers, connected cameras, and more, on one collaborative dashboard and mobile application.
STRATIS’ goal is to make a property more energy efficient and sustainable so residents, property managers, owners, and operators can all benefit.
For property managers and residents, early detection of any waste, energy, or water problems reduces unscheduled maintenance and repairs. This offering provides owners and operators the most rapid and significant return on investment and increase of net operating income of technology providers in the industry, without requiring rent lift. This holistic intelligent building design increases not only immediate NOI, but also the value of the property and portfolio. CommunityConnect is long-term, perpetual return by design.
Multifamily Retention: Simplifying the Resident Experience & Boosting NOI
Felicte moderated a Bisnow webinar with Mark Zikra (CA Ventures), Bruce Webster (Lincoln Property Company), Alex Samoylovich (Livly), and Heather Moore (Greystar). They spoke to their understanding that it is more cost-effective to retain residents than attract new ones. Especially now, These thought leaders shared their experiences on the evolving resident experience and intentionality around increasing NOI
Women in Multifamily Proptech
Felicite discussed multifamily with other women in the industry: Elizabeth Francisco (ResMan), Minna Song (MeetElise), Khushbu Sikaria (Lincoln Property Company), and Caren Maio (Funnel).
One of the topics they discussed was overcoming imposter syndrome in proptech. Below is a quote from Felicite on her experience with it:
“This is where a CoFounder and incredible Team has so much impact. Every single time I falter, they bat it down! But they built a culture that enables that capability by embracing vulnerability, and that’s incredibly freeing and empowering for an organization. When you’re allowed to say how you’re feeling, whether it’s positive or negative, you’re able to get support and move forward again. It’s also worth mentioning that I’ve only worked with and never for a public company, so I expect to revisit those feelings of doubt all over again learning new processes and systems! I would encourage anyone who experiences this to know your superpower – that thing you do better than anyone you’ve met, and revisit how that superpower, and NOT luck has enabled your successes.”
Thank you to everyone we had a conversation with, and we hope to talk again soon. Did you miss our OPTECH booth? Do you want to learn more about CommunityConnect? Take a look at the resources on our CommunityConnect offering here.
